What we can scan

Negatives often contain photographs that were never printed.

Strips, individual frames, sleeves and mixed older formats can all be assessed. If you do not know the film type, send us a photograph and we will help identify it.

  • 35mm negative strips and individual frames.
  • Other film sizes assessed and quoted by format.
  • High-resolution digital files suitable for viewing and reprinting.
  • Existing sleeve, roll or batch order can be retained where useful.

Common questions

Before you send your material.

What if I do not know what type of negative I have?

That is fine. Send us a photograph showing the film and any sleeves or packaging.

Can negatives be scanned if I no longer have prints?

Yes. The negative contains the original photographic image and can be digitised directly.

Can you scan black-and-white negatives?

Yes. Black-and-white and colour negatives can both be digitised.

Can I order prints from the scans?

Yes. Reprints can be discussed after scanning if you want physical copies of selected images.

Not sure what you have?

Send us a photograph.

A quick phone picture of the box, album, slides or negatives is often enough for us to advise.
